Yes, thou art gone ! and never more

Thy sunny smile shall gladden me;

But I may pass the old church door,

And pace the floor that covers thee,

Что под плитой укрыто здесь

То сердце, что дороже мне,

Чем этот мир прекрасный весь.

And though I thy transient life is o'er,

'Tis sweet to think that thou hast been;

И пусть тебя не вижу я,

Но помню все твои черты.

Пусть прекратилась жизнь твоя,

Но след во мне оставил ты.

To think a soul so near divine,

Within a form, so angel fair,

United to a heart like thine,

Has gladdened once our humble sphere.

Я рада, что твоя душа

Соединилась с Богом вновь -

Она как ангел хороша

И помнит про мою любовь.
